3 Ways to Stay Health-Focused During a Pandemic

1.Stay Positive

Many times, when there is perceived turmoil all around us, we tend to choose to behave in a haphazard fashion. That is a choice that we make. We have the right to shift that focus and do a complete 180! It all starts with a mindset shift. Surround yourself with the right energy, including the right people, and redirect that focus towards positivity. Like many things that we initially start, it may be difficult to adopt this mindset. However, stick with it until it becomes a habit and it may even spread to other people in your life.

2. Stay organized

Now that you have shifted towards a positive mindset, organize where you put your energy. Have you scheduled that doctor’s appointment? Have you picked those meds up from the pharmacy? Are you following your doctor’s advice on ways to improve your healthy lifestyle? Do you have a way to remember to take those meds in the midst of the surrounding chaos? Even if it requires keeping a journal or just making a to-do list, seeing your tasks before you keep your focused on what is most important. Be intentional about your health in an effort to reduce the chances of bad outcomes. It is literally your life on the line.

3. Stay motivated

So, you have changed your mindset and have gotten organized on ways to stay on top of your health. What’s next? Stay motivated! It is so easy to get excited in the beginning and after a short while losing focus and revert back to old ways. Remember, this is a choice. We are making a lifestyle change and not merely a temporary fix. Choose to stay motivated through various ways such as self-assessment, accountability partners, and/or community groups. We are all in this together!

Following these steps may help you to stay “health-focused” during a pandemic and beyond. As with any health or wellness concern, consult your doctor for further assessment and guidance.
